Shakespeare and the Italian connection
This seminar focuses on awareness of Shakespeare in nineteenth century Italy, the conditions which favoured his impactful ingress into high culture via the Scala, and the role played by three Italian actors who exported Shakespeare worldwide, even back into the UK.
