Learning for Life with Macmillan Education.
The training event to boost your students’ skills.
• Introduction by Casimir Kukielka, Macmillan Education
• Gateway to Exam Success
Dave Spencer. Exams are a major part of any teenage student’s life. Unfortunately, as teachers we may some times feel that exams are having a negative impact on our students and on our teaching. The challenge is to find ways to prepare students for exams but at the same time keep their motivation high. This practical session will offer a wide variety of speaking, grammar and writing tips, activities and games that train students of all levels to become not only successful exam candidates but also happy and efficient language learners. We will also suggest different solutions (including a recent teaching innovation – the Flipped Classroom) for one of the biggest problems all teachers face – lack of time!
• 4 Activities for developing Life Skills and competencies
Carol Higho. All teachers want their students to be successful but are we including life skills with the 4 skills we are most comfortable teaching? This workshop will present ideas for equipping students to feel more confident in delivering not only the English skills but the life skills so often requested – either for employment or for Higher Education.
