Giacomo Puccini's romantic depiction of bohemian Paris, with memorable music and a love story drawn from everyday life, has captivated audiences round the world, making La Bohème one of the best-loved of all operas.

The opera received its world premiere at the Teatro Regio, Turin, on 1 February 1896 and was first performed in Covent Garden in 1897, where it has had more than 500 performances since.

The Royal Opera Orchestra will be directed by Mo Emmanuel Villaume. Soprano Sonya Yoncheva and Tenore Charles Castronovo as Mimì and Rodolfo.

2019-2020 Royal Opera House Live Season is distributed in Italian cinemas by Nexo Digital.

Running time: About 2 hours 55 minutes, including two intervals. Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
