Get ready for an Academic and Professional future
Learning with the British Council will give your child that solid foundation for future success. It will help them get in to the right university. It will improve their career prospects.
In an increasingly competitive environment, we want our Secondary learners to be ready to successfully face the challenges of the future. At the British Council we’ll give them the tools they need to cope confidently with a changing, globalised world.
What does it consists of?
We know that at Secondary level learners’ interests and goals are highly diverse. That’s why we structure our classes around two age groups: Lower Secondary (12-14 years) and Upper Secondary (15-17 years).
Upper Secondary, from 15-17 years old, where we help them to prepare for university life and to strive to achieve the goals they set for themselves.
The lessons are interactive and carefully structured. They build your child’s skills and confidence over time. The courses are led by our highly experienced and well-qualified teachers. And are supported by our world-class, online learning hub. This is where your child can access the latest techniques and digital tools to brush up their skills and continue their learning at home.
It’s a tried-and-tested combination and you’ll soon see improvement in all four of your child’s English skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Better English is the most obvious benefit. But our approach to learning also encourages your child to think critically and creatively. Improving decision making and problem solving as they learn. Skills your child will find very useful in tackling the challenges they’re likely to face over the coming years.
Many of our Upper Secondary students will take Cambridge Assessment English exams such as FCE or CAE as proof of sufficient language ability to further their studies in both universities in Italy and abroad.
READY TO CERTIFY YOUR CHILD'S LEVEL
At some levels, students are prepared for Cambridge Assessment First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency and IELTS exams. On these courses teachers will advise each learner in accordance with their needs and offer them the chance to sit these internationally-recognised examinations.
Duration: Annual course from October to June.
Lower Secondary courses are offered in Rome, Milan and Naples.
Age: 15-17 years.
