About this course

This course is a chronological overview of the cultural and political events that have shaped life in Britain since the end of the Second World War.

Starting with the years of reconstruction, we will look at the 1950s economic boom, the turbulent 70s and 80s through to the globalized Britain of the twenty-first century up to the current EU referendum.

The course will draw on primary and secondary sources, text and film and popular music to look at why and how we have got to where we are today.
