Legal English | TOLES
Legal English | TOLES preparation is for lawyers, practitioners, legal translators and students of law who wish to improve their legal English or who wish to take the TOLES exam (Test of Legal English Skills).
Minimum Level: Upper-intermediate B2.
The course focuses on developing reading, writing and listening skills in a legal context.
There is an emphasis on grammar and prepositions, collocations, sentence structure and drafting in plain English.
The course develops exam technique and prepares participants for the TOLES exam (Foundation & Higher or Advanced), but taking the exam is optional.
This course is recognised by the “Ordine degli Avvocati di Milano” and carries 14 credits
Students must attend 80% of the course to obtain the credits.
TOLES Exam preparation is for students of law, practitioners, legal translators and lawyers who wish to prepare for the TOLES exam (Test of Legal English Skills).
The lessons will focus on preparing for the three exam papers (Reading, Writing, Listening) and on developing exam technique.
During the course you will learn how to differentiate between “legalese” and “plain English”, formal and informal register and concentrate on achieving grammatical and written accuracy.
The course will include exam practice, as well as Legal English language development activities.
